Siobhán Quinn

Siobhán Quinn has a strong background in the evaluation and development of programming for non-profit organizations. She has a fifteen year history as a museum and arts professional serving as executive director of regional history museums, arts and community grants administrator, and programs director.

As the Coordinator of the Cultural Affairs program at Hudson Valley Community College she is responsible for coordinating all cultural events on campus of 11,000 students, 1000 faculty and staff. These programs also serve both Rensselaer County residents (153,000) and the extended Greater Capital Region community at large (876,000 residents).

To address the college's need she created a new cultural program entitled "Alive! A celebration of the Arts and Humanities," expanding the cultural events program at the college from 20 to over 80 annual events over the course of one academic year including such large events as the Roots and Branches Storytelling Festival, The Gospel Explosion, National Humanities Month Alive! Celebration in the Arts and Humanities, semi-annual large tour dance company performances, and the HOPE celebration as well as presenting theatre, dance, music, the literary arts, humanities programs lectures and interactive workshops. Additionally she is a founding member of the HOPE awards, a community and college award given for the promotion of peace and non-violence through community work on both local and global levels.

Siobhán is currently finishing her Master's/ Certificate of Advanced Study degree in Public History at the University at Albany. Her thesis study has focused on the developing academic study of oral and folkloric traditions in the Hudson Valley and greater New York State from the 1920s through the 1950s.
